OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY
The overall goal is to help special needs students improve their quality of life at home and in school. The therapist helps introduce, maintain, and improve occupational skills so that children with autism can be as independent as possible.
YOGA
Yoga is an ancient Indian body of knowledge. In addition to physical benefits, Yoga can increase social & communication skills, awareness & expression of emotions, reduce anxiety, increased body awareness and increase self-confidence.
ARTS & CRAFTS TRAINING
Arts and crafts training can engage children, nurture their creativity and even help them to improve in academic areas. Arts and crafts help in the physical and social development of special needs children. Even the most severely disabled students can, through their senses, appreciate the joy of the arts.
MUSIC
Music interventions have been found to improve speech output among children with autism in the areas of vocalization, verbalization, and vocabulary. Singing can be especially helpful for teaching autistic children to effectively express their emotions. It is also a very helpful tool for memorization and learning daily routines. With repetitive training, music can also help improve a child’s attention span.
SPEECH THERAPY
Speech therapy is given to improve overall communication. This makes it possible for children with autism to improve their ability to form relationships and function in day-to-day life. This includes teaching kids to articulate words, to communicate and comprehend verbal and nonverbal communication.
SPORTS
All children can benefit from the exercise, energy release, and pure enjoyment of playing sports, and this includes children with special needs. Physical activity is as important for special needs children, as it is for any child. The sports or activity is modified to allow special needs children to get the cardiovascular, flexibility, and strength-training benefits that allow them to stay healthy and fit.
